Dear KDIS Students,

 

We hope you are having a great semester and are preparing for your mid-term exams well.

We, the Student Affairs Division, would like to announce our first cultural event field trip, a visit to the Korean Folk Village!

This field trip will be a great opportunity for all of you to learn about the history of Korea and many facets of its traditional culture. Since the program will include a variety of activities, we look forward to your active participation.

Please read the information below carefully as it will be your responsibility if there are any issues caused by not following the directions.

 

■ Overall Schedule for the Korean Folk Village Field Trip

  1. Date: Friday, March 29th

  2. Time: 8:50 AM ~ 6:00 PM

  3. Venue: Korean Folk Village, Gyeonggi-do

  4. Participants: A maximum of 84 (All KDIS International & Korean Students)

      - First come, first served.

  5. Participation Fee: 15,000 won (Entrance Fee)

      - The fee will be deducted from your monthly stipend. 

      - If you are not receiving a monthly stipend from the school, you will be asked to transfer the money to the school bank account.

      - There will be a 50% discount if you mention that you are participating with your Buddy (KDIS Buddy Program participants).

09:00~10:30	Travel to the Korean Folk Village
10:30~12:00	Korean Folk Village tour	Guided in English
12:00~13:00	Lunch	(Choose 1) -Rice topped with bulgogi and mushrooms -Pork cutlet -Soybean paste sauce bibimbab (for vegetarians)
13:00~14:00	Experience program	(Choose 1) -Making Korean rice cakes -Wearing Korean traditional clothing of scholars' uniforms
14:00~16:00	Sightseeing and free time	Farmers’ Music & Dance, Acrobatics on a Tightrope, and Horse Riding Acrobatics
16:00~18:00	Return to KDI School

  7. Lunch Menu

     - Choose “All” or “Vegetarian” in the food menu in the MIS.

     - Rice topped with bulgogi and mushrooms / Pork cutlet / Soybean paste sauce bibimbab

  8. Experience Program

      - Please choose Making Korean rice cakes or Wearing Korean traditional clothing and write your choice in the comment field.

 

■ How to Apply

1. Go to http://mis.kdischool.ac.kr/

2. Log in using your ID and password

3. Click Apply for Events on the left side, under Training/Event

4. Choose Field Trip for event type, and click the query button

5. Click [Field Trip] Korean Folk Village

6. Select / fill in the following details:

• Choose “Making Korean Rice Cake” or “Wearing Korean traditional clothes” for the experience program, and write your choice in the comment field.
• Choose Vegetarian in the food menu if you are a vegetarian.
• If you are participating with your Buddy (KDIS Buddy Program participant), please leave a comment with your Buddy’s name in the comment field.
• Click the Save button.

7. For confirmation, click on the Event Application Result under Training/Event.

 

★Application Period: March 14^th (Thurs.) ~ 20^st (Wed.)

 

■ Note

  * You can cancel your application up until March 20th.

  * Please note that you will be charged 20,000 won if you do not show up after successfully registering for this program.

  * Please check your schedule before signing up for this event since your absence from any of your classes will NOT be excused.
